I saw a link to a NYtime article about a Cosmopolitan article on Craig Newmark's blog (Craig Newmark = founder of craigslist)

FINAL TAKE Cosmopolitan, citing an unnamed online dating study, said that women would “relax their standards of how tall they want their mate to be” if the man earned enough money.
How much?
A man who is 5-foot-6 would need to make $175,000 more a year to be considered as desirable as a man who is 6 feet tall.
Homework for you
There are a lot of official google blogs, but I think this is the most interesting one

I highly recommend you read the 3 part series on net neutrality.
"Without nondiscrimination safeguards that preserve an environment of network neutrality, the Internet could be shaped in ways that only serve the interests of broadband carriers, rather than U.S. consumers and Web entrepreneurs. As Craig Newmark of Craig's List puts it, 'Imagine if you tried to order a pizza and the phone company said AT&T's preferred pizza vendor is Domino's. Press one to connect to Domino's now. If you would still like to order from your neighborhood pizzeria, please hold for three minutes while Domino's guaranteed orders are placed.'"

More Opera stuff

Here are 3 new buttons for my Opera that work wonders. The first opens the current webpage in IE. There is also an open IE in new tab button, but that requires an add on to Opera. Since I almost never have problems with websites, I decided to keep my Opera extra light in exchange for this slight inconvenience.
The middle one is a "google search this website". I commented to TC a few weeks ago that google search seems to work a lot better than most websites' search engines. For example, when I want to find an artist on purevolume, I just go to purevolume.com, press that button and type in the artist name and I get back google results, but only from www.purevolume.com
The last one is the coolest one. It uses bugmenot to automatically search for usernames and passwords to the site you are currently at. If the sign in boxes are appropriately labeled ("Username, password"), it is even smart enough to submit a name for you with the click of a button. Otherwise the top 2 results are posted in a small discreet box in the lower left corner of the browser, which is awesome.

Yo guys, the weekend is fast approaching and I have absolutely zero plans. Right now I'm betting on a Diablo 2 campaign, but if you have a better idea of a game/activity that I can do, let me know. Only rule is, it has to be within my ability to do (EG "make out with a hot chick" is disqualified).
I just got back from tennis, and I have a new streak going, I managed to sneak by him today 10-7.
It was rough, and I'm pretty sure Past James would have lost, but this time I saw what I needed to do to adjust and was able to change my game as necessary.
I'm pretty proud of my accomplishment. You should be, too.
(For some reason, the text here wants to go all wonky and stretch out the page)
Anyway, I'm doing great, and it looks like I'll be back to visit in about 3 more weeks. I miss you all. Every night in my dreams I see you, I feel you. That is how I know you go on.
Love,

Joke
A man wanted to get married. He was having trouble choosing among three likely candidates. He gave each woman a present of $5,000 and watched to see what they do with the money.
The first got a total make over. She went to a fancy beauty salon got her hair and nails done, new make up and bought several new outfits and dressed up very nicely for the man. She told him that she did this to be more attractive for him because she loves him so much.
The man was impressed.
The second went shopping to buy the man gifts. She got him a new set of golf clubs, some new gizmos for his computer, and some expensive clothes. As she gave these gifts, she tells him that she has spent all the money on him because she loves him so much.
Again, the man is impressed.
The third invested the money in the stock market. She earned several times the $5,000. She gave him back his $5000 and reinvested the remainder in a joint account. She told him that she wanted to save for their future because she loves him so much.
Obviously, the man was impressed.
The man thought for a long time about what each woman had done with the money he'd given her. Then, he married the one with the biggest boobs.

Dear Hippies,
So I played tennis yesterday and I lost! It was a tough match, we both had really hot and really cold streaks. The end score was 7-6(7-1). Yeah, I kinda fell apart in the tiebreaker, I know. But I was pretty happy with how I played for the most part. I've really improved at my hard gets, intead of getting to hard shots and knocking them into the net, I now get to the hard shots and lob them back in. Unfortunately, the guy I play knows me too well to fall for the "Oh, he'll never return that" trick. Oh well, I'll just have to get faster to surprise him more.
I'm still trying to learn the new system at work, and I'm still hella confused and frustrated. But I'm starting to make a little progress, so hopefully today I'll make a big breakthrough and I can continue on with my normal work.
Things I am no longer ashamed of liking:
1)boobies
2)my slammin' bod
3)Howie Day
Things I am still ashamed of liking:
1)RPGs
2)TC
3)Ninjas

If we lived in Diablo II
I was talking with The Doctor, and somehow the subject of what kind of Diablo 2 character we would be, so here goes:
Me: Necromancer- If all of that worshipping of the DL gets me anything, it had better be the ability to raise an army of the undead.
Nick: Barbarian - I think this one is self explanitory, too.
Thomas: Paladin - Strong, honest, full of bravery and valor
Ben: Assassin - Assassin ~= Ninja ~= Asian ~= Ben
Eazy E: Druid - Lover of nature, ability to shape shift into werewolves? They're practically the same person!
A-Bomb: Sorceress - Smart, reads lots of books, would look slammin' in the outfit. Sorceresses have the ability to mold reality to their whim, sounds like a lawyer to me.

Why the ladies love me
http://www.reuters.com/article/oddlyEnoughNews/idUSEIC04599320070710?feedType=RSS&rpc=22&sp=true
"Women were more physically attracted to brawny men, especially for a fling. But when it comes to finding a long-term partner, they tend to pick a regular man over a mate with huge biceps."
That's right, the ladies want me for just a fling, but they want you normies for long term.

Say you want to read the IMDB boards. They make you create a free account, but it's a hassle and you have to give them an email address, which will inevitably get spammed. Here comes bugmenot. Go to the site, type in "www.imdb.com" in the search, and a bunch of usernames and passwords will pop up. Choose one and type it in and get on with your life.

Hello friends and The Doctor,
I have arrived back at Fermilab with little to no hassle. The amazing thing about a 5 hour drive is that it gets even more boring every time I make it. Fortunately, I only have 2 more of them left before I upgrade to the 10 hour drive. I had a lot of fun this weekend; I only have 2 regrets. First, that I was unable to play my prank on The Doctor, and second, that I was unable to play BennyTee at tennis. I was able to get in all of my desired interactions with TC, though, which I am very happy for. On a side note, I was also able to get in all of my desired interactions with A-Bomb and A-Bomb mark II, if you know what I mean*. Also, I was able to find A-Bomb's missing camera, so she owes me bigtime, if you know what I mean**.
In other news, I have a tennis match today. This will be my 4th match with this guy. In the first 2 matches he smoked me bigtime and in the 3rd match I was able to squeak by him in a tie breaker. So it should be really interesting. He plays with a lot of spin and goes for the weird angles, so playing him involves a lot of running and mishits.
Hey, I went running today. I made it about 2 miles before the heat, my outofshapeness, and other important but unmentioned factors stopped me. I am pretty ashamed of that because I think even a lardo like TC could beat me in a race right now. Yeah, that's right, lardo. I got an email about the Fermilab triathlon yesterday and it reminded me of how awesome being in the Pigman was. It also reminded me about how I've sat on my ass all summer doing nothing physical except for the random tennis match.
So, anyway, I am done talking for now. Hopefully future posts won't be so lame, so I apologize for that. Keep it real, yo.
